Surface Engineering Association Gala Dinner & Awards 2014
On Friday 17th October 2014 the Surface Engineering Association hosted their Biennial Gala Dinner and Award ceremony at the illustrious House of Lords in Westminster London.
The Awards made up five different categories; Marketing, Quality, Environmental, Outstanding Company Achievement and the Ray Alford Individual Achievement. This year F.H.Lambert opted to enter in to four categories.
F.H.Lambert Ltd was invited to attend such a prestigious event and was nominated as finalists in four categories:
Awarded to the company which best demonstrates a planned approach to marketing its products/services.
Winners. F.H.Lambert Ltd has been in business for over 50 years and has successfully established an outstanding reputation. Particularly catering for the aviation industry, the company regularly exhibits at aviation exhibitions in both the UK and Europe including Farnborough, Hamburg and Geneva.
In order to enhance the already reputable company, F.H Lambert attended numerous exhibitions, as well as investing in a three dimensional version of the company logo. This entailed a propeller, along with new brochure designs and advertisements for editorial purposes. F.H.Lambert's subsidiary division Fohqudill Instruments also took to exhibitions based in Wigan and Frankfurt further promoting the company and its many diverse services.

Finalists with runner up. During the past 24 months F.H.Lambert Ltd. has made many flourishing changes and additions to the business. This has enabled more development and concreted the soaring quality which customers expect. In order to guarantee customers’ expectations and provide a consistent standard in excellence, the company has worked diligently to achieve the latest UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) recognised certification in excellence, such as ISO9001 and, soon to be awarded, AS9001. Both systems are audited through the British Standards Institution. The company has lucratively negotiated funding for the AS9001 standard through MAS Works (Manufacturing Advisory Service Grant Programme). As part of this process members of the senior management team have completed training courses relating to these certificates.
Recent employment at the company welcomed a new Quality Engineer whose role is responsible for ensuring that all of the principles held within the two standards are adhered too. As part of this stringent process a Company Quality Policy sets out the principles of the company coupled with a Compliance Manual which sets out the requirements for achieving these quality principles.
An Aesthetic Verification Document, QMF20 was also notarised is advantageous to customers who are able to measure the quality of the goods they are receiving.
Outstanding Company Achievement
Awarded to the organisation, company, or individual who has contributed most to the improvement of the industry in the past 24 months.
Finalist with runner up. In October 2013, the company reached the esteemed milestone of 50 years in business. This event was suitably celebrated with a gala evening, held at Stoke Park. Over 150 guests attended the event, ranging from customers, suppliers, employees, friends and family, enjoying an evening of fine wine, food and dancing with live music.
It is a substantial achievement for a company with such small beginnings to reach such a coveted milestone, especially whilst retaining its status as a family run business. Whilst maintaining the aforementioned the business has developed and grown vastly to the extent that it has over the last 2 years. This has been achievable by continuing to follow the core values and magnificent path it has set itself upon. The company will unquestionably achieve ever more respect and recognition throughout the world as the years go on.
Ray Alford Individual Achievement
A special award for the person who has made the most outstanding contribution to the industry.
