There is still very little guidance and direction on the subject of BREXIT, and it is not fully known how this will affect businesses. However, F.H.Lambert Limited has taken some precautions and preparations in order to safeguard the high-quality service that we provide to our customers, and to ensure that disruptions are kept to a bare minimum; if changes are made to the exporting/ importing procedures.
In our approach, we have trained our staff about BREXIT and consulted with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) over potential changes. Both our office and financial teams have undertaken a webinar run by HMRC regarding the potential changes to exporting and importing procedures, and we have in place all of the necessary registrations needed to seamlessly continue importing and exporting with Europe; without any delays (including registration for our Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number).
In response to preparing the company for BREXIT, we have created for our customers a matrix spreadsheet of commodity codes assigned to F.H.Lambert Limited’s Duty Inward Processing Relief (IPR) number. This will assist with the classification of parts being exported to us and simplify the exporting process; to help eliminate any possible delays in processing shipping paperwork.
The matrix is fully searchable using keywords that we have created to easily identify and assign the correct commodity code when exporting goods to us; ensuring no customs delays.
Regarding BREXIT, we will continue to monitor the situation and keep our customers informed of any updates as developments occur.
